We recently joined Synergy to support Dandelions WA in their ‘Back to School’ campaign, where in just one day, 14 volunteers packed 500 backpacks filled with school supplies for children in need across regional and remote Western Australia. Dandelions WA provides essential items, support and personalised kindness to Western Australians in need – from crisis relief and school supplies to community recovery – powered entirely by volunteers and the generosity of the WA community. Our team also prepared hygiene packs for students who may not have access to basic items, a simple gesture that can make a big difference in a young person’s day. The day was wrapped by sharing a cup of tea with Dandelions WA’s regular volunteers, whose stories of resilience, compassion and community spirit were particularly moving.

This year, our incredible Horizon Power Lifeblood team has made 112 blood donations, including 56 whole blood, 48 plasma and 8 platelets - potentially saving 336 lives. With 136 registered team members, we’re proud to support initiatives like Metallica Rocks Lifeblood, with two dedicated Horizon Power teams and several individuals (including a few first-time donors) rolling up their sleeves. As Metallica hit the stage in Perth over the weekend, our people were doing their own heavy lifting, donating blood and plasma to help save lives. At Horizon Power, we encourage employees to donate during work hours and use their volunteer leave to give back in this powerful way.
