Recently, members of our Exmouth community had the chance to see the future of local energy up close. With support from Pacific Energy, we hosted a one-off series of bus tour of the Jirndal Solar Farm site, giving 75 locals a behind-the-scenes look at the newly installed solar panels before the system is energised. From school students, families and community leaders to Exmouth’s oldest resident, attendees learned how the Power Project will soon supply up to 80 per cent of the town’s energy needs through renewable sources. The tour showcased innovative technology including bi-facial tracking solar panels that capture sunlight from both sides and follow the sun’s path, as well as measures in place to protect local wildlife and the environment. The solar farm’s name, Jirndal, means sun in the Baiyungu language, reflecting the cultural significance of the project and its role in powering a sustainable future. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special event and shared in the excitement of Exmouth’s clean energy future.
